At Greatham, we use the interrelated dimensions of music throughout our teaching to encourage the development of musical skills. We aim to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and foster their talents as musicians through listening and appraising, creating, exploring and performing. Children are exposed to a variety of genres through learning about from music from all around the world.
We aim to ensure that children leave Greatham Church of England Primary School with a wide range of happy and rich memories in music, formed through interesting and exciting experiences that enhance a child’s awareness of their own abilities and strengths as a learner; thus ensuring that children see learning in music as an ongoing process.
