Mental Health and Wellbeing

Statement of Intent

At Greatham, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff. We know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everyone’s business and that we all have a role to play.

At our school we:

  • Help children understand their emotions and feelings better
  • Help children socially to form and maintain relationships
  • Help children feel comfortable sharing any concerns or worries
  • Promote self esteem and ensure children know that they matter
  • encourage children to be confident
  • Help develop emotional resilience and manage setbacks

We work in partnership with Alliance Psychology Services to ensure that children, young people and their families are supported to have good emotional mental health and wellbeing and have access to the right support at the right time.
