Melrose Learning Trust Board and our school local governing body are consulting on our planned admissions arrangements for pupils applying for places in the academic year beginning September 2026. This consultation will run from 13th December 2024 to 24th January 2025.
A copy of the proposed policy is available below.
If you have any comments or queries about the policy, please submit these in writing to the school office or email them to hgpcwestmoreland@greathamprimary.org.uk.
At the end of the consultation period, all responses will be carefully considered, and the final policy will be approved by the Melrose Learning Trust Board.

If your child is refused a place at any of the primary or secondary schools you applied for, you have the right of appeal against the decision.
You appeal will be decided by a panel which is independent of both the school and the council and the decision is binding on all parties (the local authority, the school and the parent). If the independent appeal panel agrees that your appeal should be upheld, the school must admit your child.
Independent appeal panels must comply with the School Admission Appeals Code (2012).
